About TeachDayOne

An independent study and practice app for 8 ETS Praxis teacher-certification exams, built by a small number of contributors.

A teacher's desk in morning light: stacked lesson-plan notebooks, a mug, a small plant and a tablet.

It is not built by ETS, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ETS or the Praxis® trademark holders.

What is actually in it

Those three numbers are generated from the same files the app ships. Add a question, rebuild, and they change. None of them is typed in by hand, which is the point: a number that cannot drift is the only kind worth printing.

How the material is built

ETS publishes a Study Companion for every Praxis test, setting out the content outline the test is drawn from. Where a published companion exists, the outline titles here are transcribed from it, and where a companion prints sample questions with answer rationales, those are included and labelled ETS. Everything else is written for this app and labelled Authored. The label is on every individual question, so you are never guessing which kind you are looking at.

Every authored question can also name the standard, framework or study guide it was written against, and that name is shown on the question. Where a question rests on nothing but arithmetic, it carries no source, because attaching a citation that does not support the item would be worse than leaving it blank.

How to check us

We are not going to put a photo of a smiling person on this site and call them a user. They would be a stock photograph, because we have no users to photograph. What you can check instead:

We have no testimonials, no star ratings, no user count and no pass rate, because we do not collect results and have never counted users. If we ever do, we will print the number and the denominator.

What it will not tell you

Your score in TeachDayOne is not your Praxis score. Nothing here predicts your result, and we will not tell you that you are ready. What the app can do is show you which specific competencies you keep getting wrong, which is the part you cannot get from a practice score alone.
