Every exam on one table
The same numbers again, in a form you can compare down the columns. The two count columns are the ones people mix up: a Praxis test has a fixed number of questions on the day, and the bank here is bigger, because more questions across the same competencies is the only thing that makes the weak ones show up.
| Code | Exam | On the test | Time | Competencies | Free questions here | Outline from ETS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5025 | Early Childhood Education | 120 | 2 hours | 48 | 82 | Transcribed |

| 5101 | Business Education | 120 | 2 hours | 99 | 141 | Transcribed |
| 5164 | Middle School Math | 66 | 3 hours | 50 | 90 | Transcribed |

Transcribed means the competency titles were taken word for word from the published ETS Study Companion. Reconstructed means they were written against ETS’s publicly documented content outline. The sources page explains the difference and names the document behind each exam.
Which exam do you actually take?
The code is not a detail. It decides which state will accept your certificate, and there is no way to work it out from the subject name alone, because two states can require different codes for the same grade band.
What is on every exam’s pages
Each exam gets three pages, split by search intent, because one page cannot rank for “5101 practice test” and “5101 test format” at the same time. They are different questions and the pages read differently.
- The overview. The full competency outline, every domain and its weighting, the practice bank, and where the material came from.
- The study guide. Every competency on the outline with a worked lesson, the key terms, and the traps the exam is known for.
- The test format. Question count, clock, delivery, calculator policy, domain weights and what the score is actually made of.
What is not here
Being straight about the edges of the catalogue matters more than the count. This site covers the 8 subject and secondary exams listed above. It does not cover the Praxis Core subtests (reading, writing and mathematics), the PLT exams, or the many early grades and specialty areas that sit outside it. For any exam not listed, your two best free resources are the ETS Study Companion PDF and the free official practice test that comes with your test registration, and both are worth your time.
If the exam you need is missing, the honest thing is to say so rather than to point you at a page for a neighbouring code that looks similar. Every exam here is one this app can actually mark you on.
Before you start
Two pages will save you time later. Where every question came from tells you how much of this material is transcribed from ETS and how much was written for this app, and it links to the ETS document behind each exam so you can check it yourself. How to study for a Praxis covers the loop that actually moves a score, which is not the same thing as reading the outline twice. And what this costs, which is $0, against what the paid options charge.
